He couldn’t remember his address, he gave the clerk various versions and she could not find any of them. The guy in front of me in the queue finally produced his polling card and was ticked off against the information on the polling card.

Then it was my turn, cleverly I thought, if I give her my polling card from the start, she won’t have problems finding me. She asked me whether I can confirm my name and address.

Yet the guy in front of me couldn’t even remember his address and was accepted.

Wow, what different measures are applied to different people. There was so much in the press about voting fraud. Doesn’t surprise me at all.
