The Buddhist connection

Just had a big argument and discussion with the former chair of our local Residents Association, she is a regular worker with the London Buddhist Centre, when I just came across this article, showing that the new Attorney General is also a Buddhist who visits the London Buddhist Centre regularly.

Question of sexual exploitation arise in every religion, more or less. Yet the point of reducing democratic processes is more concerning.

The article in the Guardian mentions the threat to a reduction in Human Rights.

My little taster of this is that our local Buddhist committee member of our local residents association simply blackmailed me and said that either I reduce access to booking facilities to our local community centre for local residents or I could not be an officer of the Association. Whilst I am a fully qualified and highly experienced secretary, I was unable to become secretary of our local residents association who rather rent the community centre out to Extinction Rebellion rather than allow local mothers to have baby showers there. In fact that was a minuted and fully supported notion by the whole committee.

Of course I do not want to participate in such an organisation. Our local community centre is owned by Tower Hamlets Homes, a Labour council run social landlord, who are held to ransom by people who want to put a completely new slant on the term community centre.
