If it’s a pretty woman

I am extremely concerned to learn about the suicide of a fire brigade officer whilst on duty in the early hours of today in the West Midlands.  In 2019 more police officers died through suicide than in the line of duty. Yet, that story does not even get the fraction of attention that the Caroline Flack story got.

I don’t want to say that one life is worth more than another but I think that the lady suffered from depression is a matter that should have been addressed via her GP or private health service, whichever she prefers.

It seems rather unfair that her prosecution is so overrated and the CPS gets the blame, what about the partner who suffered domestic abuse?

It is more than regrettable that people die needlessly and through their own actions. Generally that problem has to be addressed.

Obviously it is very distressing for a large amount of people if a very popular person commits suicide, that increases stress levels for all of us. But to blame the media for the problems is just completely unfair and unrealistic.

I had some very bad media reports for years and had to put up with it. It happens. Some politicians put up with severe media preasures and survive it. That is a matter of personal strength.

I want to offer sincere condolences to the family and friends of Caroline. I only started to watch Love Island this series and think it must be very stressful to openly deal with very personal and intimate feelings in front of the world and half-naked at most times. Especially as the Islanders don’t have projects to follow other than personal relationships, that must be extremely difficult to cope with.
