Complaint up-held

Sense at last.

UK Visas & Immigration have decided to up-hold my complaint about treatment received via HM Government to do with the EU Citizenship procedure.

Despite being a fully signed up British Citizen, with a British passport since decades, HM Government kept on sending me letters about EU Settlement.

  1. They said that I need to apply for the EU Settlement scheme but if I gotten the letter by mistake just to ignore it.
  2. They then increased the pressure a notch by sending another letter, saying that the deadline to apply has now passed and I still didn’t apply. Now they said if I do not ring them within 28 days, I shall lose all my benefits in Briitain.

That really annoyed me.

I even thought it was a scam and asked ActionFraud and the Police, who both confirmed those letters are genuine.

I did ring HM Government and had to wait over 1 hour to get through, to explain old passport numbers and so on.

But, I also decided to make formal complaints about this and UK Visas and Immigration decided to up-hold my complaint because it is more than unreasonable to threaten a British Citizen for not complying with a procedure meant to be for EU Citizens.

So I got this nice email from UK Visas and Immigration with an apology 2 days ago.
