I was fascinated to watch Jo Biden’s inaugeration. I didn’t even take that guy seriously. One look and I thought that old guy doesn’t have a chance against the burly bully-boy Donald Trump. With a woman as vice-president (Kamala Harris), the US is entering an era of hope and social change.
Actually for us older folks Jo Biden is a figure of hope as he is the one that dismisses those rumours that once over 70 you are only good for scrap.
There was a lot of hope with this high-quality performance of state duty.
Amanda Gorman recited and excellent poem, disguised as speech, the US’s first ever poet-loreate for young people and there were top singers to copella anthems and folk tunes.
This radiated a lot of hope. People believed and smiled.
