Pure chemistry

Just spent a few days watching ‘The Fall‘ on Netflix. It’s essentially about a guy who became a perpetual violent murderer.

Having been abused as a child in a home, he changed name to Spector and married; with two children he made it his hobby to profile women and murder them.

I can’t accept that abuse as child gives a ready excuse to turn murderer later in life. There are many who grew up with difficult childhoods without developing psychotic tendencies later on in life.

I think it has to do with chemistry.

Was amazed how the attitude of detectives and doctors alike, allowed the criminal to manipulate them all just to take any opportunity possible to smash into them when left alone with them without being restraint.

It explains to me why in American jails they chain prisoners by hand and foot.

My sons former work colleague was murdered in court by a prisoner who attacked her whilst in front of a judge.

Fascinating – in the ‘Fall’ story – was the teenage relative who got caught up emotionally with Spector, it destroyed her too. She lost all perspective in life and turned violent against her best friend and then self-harming. His wife tried to kill her own kids and herself when she realised that she had fallen for a mass-murderer.

I think all teenage girls tho are exposed to violent guys tend to become self-harming. One of my daughters has a severe learning disability and she tended to self-harm for a while, I can’t really proof why but I think it was whilst she was abused by a gang of Asian men.

What should really happen is that offenders should get tested for hormone or other imbalances and medical solutions should be found to treat such people who have lost all reason to live a normal life.

I believe that sex offenders get offered chemical castrations, all other criminals should also get medical analysis and treatment with drugs.

There is no freedom in allowing criminals to make up their own mind when their own mind is tainted by chemical imbalances, they cannot resolve.

The Fall is very intense and shows how even the worst murderer can come across as charming and desirable if presented in a normal setting. It also shows how the rules in the criminal justice system make it extremely difficult for law enforcement to bring criminals to justice. Watching ‘Law and Order UK‘ also emphasises that point often enough.
